My fees are in line with other mental health professionals with commensurate training and education. I do maintain some designated spaces for low-fee patients, who cannot afford psychoanalytic treatment without fee adjustment. I am happy to address questions about the fee for our initial consultation.

 

The standard fee for the initial consultation is $150 and it usually takes an hour and is not negotiable.

 

After the initial consultation, if money would be the only obstacle to continuing therapy, the fee might be re-negotiated.  Fees can be paid in cash or by check or via PayPal; preferably paid ahead or session-by-session. 

 

Cancellations:   After an appointment is made, unless I get 48 hours notice that you won’t make it, you are responsible for the full fee.  If you give me less than 48 hours notice, and I succeed in finding someone to take your appointment, your fee will be waived. The cause of missing an appointment is of no consequence: this policy is not punitive; it is to cushion me from the vicissitudes of your life.
